I’m obsessed with teachers, and I hate it. I want to talk to them so badly, or build “student-teacher appropriate” relationships. But everytime I go to talk to one of them I have terrible anxiety. It’s killing me. And once I set my mind on going to talk to one of them, I HAVE to go talk to them, or else the thought never escapes my mind. It usually takes me a week just to say hi. Help?!
You might be an exceptional person who is looking for a mentor, coach, or friend in your teachers. How’s your social life in school, and how is your life at home? Are you looking to make strong connections with older, more sensible people who understand you?
Perhaps you have feelings that cause you extreme thoughts when interacting with your teachers. Are you desperately seeking their approval? Do you secretly want your teachers to find you through your peers and discover you for who you are? Are you afraid that if you make a “mistake” interacting with your teacher, that she’ll put you in a certain place?
Think about what is causing you to obsess about these social connections and why they feel so risky and dangerous to you. Are these feelings familiar? As in, do you remember them from childhood?

Can having anxiety increase your sugar level higher than what is usually normal for a non diabetic?
I have not been feeling right lately, kind of how i felt when I had gestational(pregnancy) diabetes but not as bad, earlier i had a bowl of honey nut cheerios with 2%milk, and 2 choc chip cookies, 1 hour 40 minutes later i take my sugar level and it is 151. this surprised me but for like 2 hours before this i took 2 mylantas and been having an anxiety attack, could this have raised it that much?Oh and yes i am getting tested again as soon as possible,Thank you for answering
It is normal that when a person’s anxiety level is increased (or in a fight or flight response mode) that your body will naturally raise blood sugar to allow for the extra energy your body is telling you it may need.
However, you mentioned that you had gestational diabetes. As I am sure you are aware, because you had gestational diabetes you are at an increased risk of developing Type II diabetes. Check your blood sugars more vigilantly throughout a day to give yourself a good idea of how your body is dealing with your carbohydrate/protein intake. I would repeat this test a few times a week. Bring the results to you physician and ask what s/he thinks of them (keep track of exactly what you are eating on those days as well, and a record of what you are feeling…stress, annxious, sick etc.
